Royan Market

Royan's large covered market — magnificent metal halls. Fresh produce, oysters from the basin, cheeses, regional wines. Every morning.

Port of Royan

Stroll around the marina, waterfront restaurants, ferries crossing the Gironde estuary. Departures for Le Verdon-sur-Mer.

Coubre Forest

Vast pine forest between Royan and Pointe de la Coubre. Hiking, mountain biking, and the famous Route des Douaniers along the ocean.

Chassiron Lighthouse

At the northern tip of Oléron. 224 steps, 360° views over the ocean and the Pertuis d'Antioche. Remarkable gardens at the foot of the lighthouse.

Cycling is the best way to discover Oléron. Bike rental in Saint-Trojan. Everything is flat!
